Ryanair Baggage Allowance

  • Every traveler can buy up to 3 checked baggage of 20 kg. These can be bought either when making the underlying booking or can be added to a reserving to 2 hours before the planned flight takeoff time.

    Checked Baggage is charged per person, per one way flight and costs shift depending upon the Ryanair routes and travel dates. Higher baggage fees of €40 per individual/per one way flight apply when checked baggage are bought after initial booking.

  • From November 1st, 2018, Ryanair passengers were permitted to take one small bag with baggage size of 40cm x 20cm x 25cm, and a cabin bag with a maximum weight allowance of 10kg in the overhead locker free of charge.

    If your baggage is lost during travel, lost baggage compensation will be processed within 28 working days of receipt.

Ryanair Flight Delay / Cancellation / Denied Boarding / Missed Connection Problems

How often are Ryanair flights delayed?

As of the research conducted by Independent.co.uk 77 percent of Ryanair flights were regarded as on time, meaning one in four arrived late.

Passengers who arrived later than 3 hours at the destination airport are eligible for compensation under the EC261 Rule.

In case of extraordinary circumstances, or situations beyond the control of airlines, they can deny the compensation.

Passengers cannot claim compensation if it's a Ryanair Strike, i.e., pilot strike or crew members strike.

Ryanair Passenger Rights Under EU 261 Rule

According to the EU Regulation 261/2004, passengers are entitled to compensation for longer flight delays, cancellations and denied boarding due to overbooking.

It applies to air passengers those who were departed from an EU airport or landed to an EU destination with an EU-registered airline.

But, there will be no compensation for a delay or cancellation caused due to extraordinary circumstances, which couldn't be avoided. An example of such situations includes bad weather or security concerns such as fear of a terror attack.

The compensation amount is between 250 to 600 Euros depending upon the route distance and length of delay.

Within EU,

  • If you travel up to 1,500 km or less, then you can claim up to €250
  • And over 1,500 km you can claim up to € 400 in compensation

Between EU Airport And Non-EU Airport

  • If you travel up to 1,500 km or less, then you can claim up to €250
  • If the distance is between 1,500 - 3,500 km, then you can claim up to €400
  • And if the distance is more than 3500 km and delay is of more than 4 hours then you can claim up to €600
