Los Angeles Airport is the primary and busiest airport of California.
It is the 2nd busiest airport in United States and one of the largest and busiest airport in the world.

LAX Airport has 4 parallel runways, Midfield Satellite Concourse (MSC North) and 9 passengers' terminals, Terminal 1 to 8 and Tom Bradley International Terminal (mostly called as Terminal B or TBIT). All the terminals are served by shuttle buses.

Terminal 1 is mostly used for Southwest Airlines flight passengers check in. Delta Airlines flights, arrive and depart from Terminal 2 and 3.

Terminal 2 is also used by Delta Airlines code share partners, Aer Lingus, Aeroméxico, Virgin Atlantic and WestJet.

American Airlines flights departures and arrivals are done at Terminal 4.

Terminal 5 is mostly used by American Airlines, JetBlue, Allegiant Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Frontier, Spirit, and Sun Country Airlines.

Terminal 6 is used by Alaska Airlines, Virgin America, Air Canada, Thomas Cook Airlines, XL Airways France, Mokulele Airlines, Boutique Air and Great Lakes.

Terminal 7 and 8 are mostly used for United Airlines flights departures and arrivals.

Terminal B or TBIT handles most of the international airlines flights, and some American and Delta Airlines flights. Southwest Airlines, Volaris, Avianca, Copa, Interjet and Virgin Australia flights arrives and departs from Terminal B.

How To Get To Los Angeles International Airport?

There are various ground transportation facilities available near LAX Airport, where passengers can use any of the following to reach to Los Angeles Airport:

LAX Shuttle Bus/Airport Metro connector: All the terminals of Lax Airport are connected by shuttle buses, and there is an underground tunnels that connects the Terminal 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and Terminal TBIT. G Shuttle bus (Metro rail) offers a free connection to and from the Los Angeles station/aviation on the Los Angeles Metro Rail Green Line.

Bus: FlyAway Bus is a shuttle bus service run by Los Angeles Airport (http://lawa.org/), which offers non-stop service to and from Los Angeles International Airport. It provides schedule bus service between LAX and Downtown Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley (Van Nuys), West Los Angeles (Westwood), Hollywood, Long Beach and California.

Private Shuttles: There are various car rental, shared van, Taxi or Uber service available near Los Angeles Airport, where passengers' can use for either private or shared rides.

EC Regulation 261/2004 - Air Passenger Rights

EC Regulation 261/2004 (dated 17 February 2005) applies to air passengers departing from any EU airport, or from a non-EU airport with an EU airline to an EU destination. Passengers must note that flight compensation is subject to certain conditions and exceptions.

There will be no compensation for delays or cancellations caused due to extraordinary circumstances, under which such delays or cancellations becomes uncontrollable. An example of such situations includes, extreme bad weather, strikes or security concerns such as fear of a terror attack.

If you are an air passenger travelled from Los Angeles Airport (LAX) with an EU registered airlines, or to California with non-EU Airline but departed from an EU airport, you are eligible to claim compensation.

If your flight was delayed on arrival for more than 3 hours, for reasons which could have been easily controlled by the airlines or was under control of respective authority, then according to EC Regulation 261/2004, you can receive compensation up to 600€. This takes into account the distance of your flight.

Within EU,

  • If you travel up to 1,500 km or less, then you can claim up to 250€
  • And over 1,500 km, you can claim up to 400€

  • If the distance is between 1,500 - 3,500 km, then you can claim up to 400€
  • And if the distance is more than 3500 km and flight delays for more than 4 hours, then you can claim up to 600€
